Oem Sat Nav Question

Hi Guys, am i missing the point here? a 2010 Prius, with 2008 Mapping, lol try the Sat-Nav round central London its diabolical it doesn't respond quick enough and takes you down roads that are no entry now, yes a certain amount of *common sense* is required i agree, but isn't the point of a sat-nav to take you where you haven't been before,

My Generation 2 was much better, and the yearly updates i bought was superb, so i wonder what the problem is here? Toyota cutting costs springs to mind, funny how other big manufacturers that use Navteq don't have the problems on there sites, And just to finish what the hell takes Toyota all this time to sort it out,the customer service used to be fantastic, but it is woeful now, seems we are not a big enough market for them to bother about us, Hence why the poor list of extras we get here!

Sorry Guys Rant over :censor: Stompe

I don't want a sat nav to take me where I havnt been before, I want it to take me where I need be, it will never know every one way street or new intersection. I have a Garmin which is a few years old now and has never been updated, I still find places OK, admittedly it has never been to the hell hole that is central London

Kingo

Blimey Stompe - you drive to central London !!!!!!! I know that the Prius is exempt from Ken's charge (which I thought Boris was gonna scrap btw) but all that hassle and hair tearing - let the train take the strain and get a tube when you get there mate - much simpler and less strain on the old ticker!!!

But yes, I do take your point, it is expensive to update Toyota's satnavs... mind you, my AA road atlas is 12 years old now, and is still useful!
