Gear Box Needed Help!

hi, . i'm in dire need of a replacement gearbox for a Y reg toyota avensis 1.6 vvti, been told a new one would cost £2000(a bit out of my price range), i have tried to get one from a breakers yard and tried various websites but to no avail, anyone able to offer advice or know where i can lay my hands on one????????

Its a long shot, but have you checked eBay?

Also, do you know if this gearbox is used on other models or even in the Lexus range?

The wider the range of cars it is used in, the better the chance of finding one.

Hi mate, what's actually wrong with the old one, is it beyond repair? Maybe a local transmission specialist could quote you on a rebuild as it's normally just failed bearings.
