Hi, i have been thinking about getting some alloys for my AYGO. I visited the website alloywheels.com, they have a drop down menu option that allows you to select which model car you have and the size wheels you want. Am i right in thinking that the alloys that it lists will be perfect with my AYGO?

The only reason i ask is that i dont quite understand 'offestting' and 'wheel size' etc, i just want to be able to order the ones i want, fit them and then look 'cool' :)

I was considering 15" but some posts state that these wheels dont look any bigger than the 14" ones, as the original 14" tyres have a bigger wall.

Any help would be great :D

Cheers!

Hey! Read this:

http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=52278

Scroll down to the section "What changes can I make to wheel sizes ?"

The offset is basically how much the wheel sticks out from the hub. This is important for turning on full lock and for wheel positioning (it also affects KPI but we won't go into that just yet hahaha).

If your offset is too low your wheel runs the risk of striking the caliper and scrubbing the inner wheel arch on full lock. These are MOT failures.

Equally, go too big on wheel size and you risk hitting the arches on bumps, and more crucially limiting your ability to turn the wheels. For example if you went bigger than say 17" (at a guess for the Aygo, more research needed), there's a chance that if you hit a pot hole whilst turning the wheel would hit the arch.

Anyway, I'll stop dribbling on, read the above thread for advice on wheel sizes

Why not get the sizes of the Aygo alloys and get ones the same size?
