Hi Guys the Deakin here im going to change the car again at present i have a 2005 avensis D4D and i am thinking about another avensis D4D about 07/08 model, but i can see that they have changed to this new facelift model, can anyone tell me more about it i have been told it has a timeing chain instead of a belt but i know very little else does it have the same clutch as the 05 model or have they been more sensible and put in a solid flywheel in to it.Thanks for any help Deakin.

You might want to post this in the Avensis section as they will be more familiar with that model.

If there's anything you wanna know about a hybrid Toyota then fire away.

I have a 2007 T-180 2.2 D4-D and mine has the timing chain on it. In my view far better than a belt as there is less risk of failure. The D-CAT has one of the lowest emissions for a Diesel car on the market today. Not bad for a 2.2 180 bhp engine, and if your prepared to suffer the 38mpg round town and the dreaded EGR clogging up.

Audi did have a problem with there 3.2 FSI (Petrol) chains failure due to the chains being starved of oil. I know this because I bought one that had to have a full engine replacment costing £12772.00

I was lucky as I bought my car from Auction and the engine was replaced only 200 miles previously under Audi warranty. So you pays your money and takes your chance.
