Improving Grip On Air/con Fan Knob

Recommended Posts

Posted

Having recently collected my new Aygo Go, I'm having some difficulty turning the air/con fan knob with my left hand due to partial loss of feeling in that hand.

Can this knob be modified?

Thanks.

I can see a couple of solutions:

1 - Change to a left-hand drive car so you can operate the knob with your right hand.

2 - Put a few elastic bands around it.

It's probably worth trying number 2 first. ;)

A suggestion......

Go on eBay, type in "switch knob"

You'll get results like

THIS

OR THIS

Should be easier to locate / turn.

Find some method of fixing it to the top of your existing knob.

You can easily remove your heater knob by just pulling it or,

if it's difficult, prise it off with a plastic spoon wrapped in cloth to prevent scratches.

You can then modify / glue the new one on in the warmth of your home.

Actually, might do this myself, the original AYGO one isn't the easiest thing to turn. (Left side Brachial Plexus injury).
