Broken Fuel Cap Lever

Hi folks, I (stupidly) stood on my fuel cap release lever this morning while leaning out of the car. It went crunch and floppy and now I can't open the petrol cap. I think I've got about a week and a half of petrol left before I need to fill it up again (and can't).

Does anyone know if the fix a straightforward one? Is it difficult to get at the mechanism? I'm pretty good at fixing stuff and don't mind taking my interior to bits.

Thanks in advance

I think it would help if you let us know which Generation of Celica you have :)

Did you ever tackle it? I've just gone to fill up and pulled mine off. Managed to get a pair of pliers to pull the cable, but looking at the lever the mounting part of it's snapped.

Edit:

This guy seems to think it can be done fairly easily by taking the seat out. Guess I'll see this weekend.
