Where Do You Take Your Car To Get It Lowered?!

Hi All,

Decided yesterday that I will be lowering my Auris to match the SR 180 look (its so much nicer) however this is the first time I have ever seriously looked at lowering a car... so my question, where the hell do you take your car to get this done?!

I haven't bought springs/kit yet and that's something I plan on doing at some point soon, but can anyone recommend the best place to take a car for this sort of work? Kwik Fit?! Toyota?!

Thanks in advance

C

Don't use places like Kwik Fit. Use a specialist car tuning garage that strip down engines and bolt on big turbo's etc, as they will probably have done a million lowering jobs and have the knowledge and skill to do it well and cheaply.

If its not too far out of your way, try Demon Tweeks. I have used them in the past for jobs like servicing, tyre changing, exhaust modification, HID fitment, and lowering. All work was done in a decent time and to a very high standard.

Ha ha. Demon Tweeks is in Wrehxam, it's a bit of a trek from Northhampton! :driving: Infact I was at Tweeks last weekend. Although I've bought from there before and have competed in events there :toast: I think they're over-priced. But you can always call for a quote.

The price is a bit steep (unless your brother was a manager there and you know all the staff  ) but the service is fantastic, and sometimes its worth spending a little bit more.

I agree there, I would rather pay a little more and make the journey for a service with good rep and so the job was carried out to the spec I would like.

Any idea on how much they would charge just to fit some new springs?

I couldn't say as i had my Fabia vRS done 2 years ago, and i had a healthy discount, but i imagine you should be able to get it done for around the £200 mark, but don't hold me to it!

Best thing to do is give them a call. If you speak to Craig or Kev you will be chatting to a decent guy who won't bullsh1t you.

Thanks for the help. I'll give them a call in the morning and see what they can do for me.

  • 3 weeks later...

Right found somewhere next to work that will happily fit springs for me, they are just pricing up the costs... can I ask what would people normally expect to pay per corner for spring fitting?

why not just go to toyota??i just fitted toyota lowering springs to a t180...approx 1.5 hours labour.....remember once your car has settled(approx 500-1000) you will need to get the tracking done you cant do it soon as the springs are on..

I am aware of that but the Toyota Garage here (won't name and shame) quoted me £100 a corner which is just rediculous.

I've got the TTE springs already, I guess because I would be supplying the parts they want nothing to do with it?

I may just mention that then. As far you are aware what is the hourly rate for labour?
