1998 Avensis Rear Wheel Bearing

i want to change the rear wheel bearing on my 1998 avensis, i have got the hub off but cant seem to get the 'cog' off thats the abs thingymejig!!!! how does this come off so i can get a socket on the nut to change the wheel bearing and carrier please

I had asked the very same question last year on this very forum, with any success. I broke my ABS cog!

Ended up getting a hub from a breakers yard. The cog could be screwed or pressed in .

I will try and dismantle my old hub in the future.

Somebody may have the answer.

I had asked the very same question last year on this very forum, with any success. I broke my ABS cog!

There is a special service tool for this. It consists of a clamp that goes around the outside of the sensor and two long 12mm bolts screw into the clamp and through a bar at their top where a slide hammer is fitted through a central hole.
