hi guys can someone please shed some light on these cars.

I mainly looking for which engine goes with which year carina (petrol only)

And which ones were RWD

I have a RWD starlet being done back as a "road car", I'm thinking of using the carina engine cause it's so readily avalible if i blow one up.

As far as I am aware the even 'early' Carina II (B reg/1984) was FWD. So you would have to go further back than that!

The later Carinas, F onwards, were mainly fitted with the 4A engine series.

4a engine? That sounds good, it'd be related to a 4age, I hear that the block is the same which means there's a good chance it'd bolt onto a twincam gearbox.

P.S. Do anyoe know the engine codes for the 1600L and 2000L engines in the carinas?

That'd be 4A-F & 3S-FE (in the post 88 facelift Carina II)
