My steering clonks slightly when manoeurving, I've read on the forum that other people have had this prob, anyone had it fixed ???, any ideas ??

Found some very good instructions on the forum, bought the grease (about £8)

and did it myself in 30 mins.. all ok now cheers

Hi there

My avensis also does that, it was ment to go to serviceon the 17th but i had to delay to the 1 April, only then i can say wha they did to it.

My last car a peugeut 306 did that noise also and it was a suspension arm "warn out"

Lower steering column universal joint. It requires re-packing with grease as it seems to burn off all the grease. Toyota have now brought out a special grease for the purpose of the steering 'UJ'.
