Eco Mode

I have a Prius T Spirit new September 2010. By mistake I pressed the EVO Mode button yesterday and a green EVO logo lit up on the display screen. To correct it, I pressed the ECO Mode button, and the EVO Mode logo changed to ECO Mode. The top display shows when it is charging, ECO or PWR, so what is the difference between driving with or without pressing the ECO Mode button? Up to this point I think that had been no logo illuminated.

The ECO, EVO and PWR buttons are toggle switches. One press turns it on and a second press turns it off, unless you press one of the other buttons which turns that one on instead.

Personally I only tried out those modes during my test drive. Since getting my car last September I have always just accepted that the computer knows best and I use all the default parameters. It is nice though to know that if you ever do want better throttle responses, or if you want to eak out the petrol more, then these switches are there to help out.
