How To Check Oil Grade

I seem to remember that, during the voluminous correspondence on the need to use 0w20 oil in the Gen3, someone was kind enough to suggest a relatively quick way of checking the grade (viscosity) of the oil actually being used in the car. I have searched several pages of this Forum looking for that info but cannot find it. Perhaps someone could let me know where that info is or repeat the checking procedure.

Hi agfs. I think the post was mine. It's at 20,000 Mile Service Problem .

The method is very Mickey Mouse, but should work OK. You may have to experiment with container size/hole size.

Good luck
