Rear Wiper Arm

Hi

My wife has recently purchased a rear wiper arm for our Y Reg 2001 Yaris. Our mechanic friend says it's the wrong model (that Toyota changed them around that time) but the supplier says that there is only one model of wiper arm and that our mechanic is wrong. Can anyone confirm which is right? are they universal or might we simply have the wrong one?

Jap built Yaris has an arm only, the blade is formed as part of the arm and needs a rubber and two steel inserts to hold it all together

French built cars have a blade and an arm

Your early model will be jap built, it is only available from your dealer

A Parts-King said, they are alost impossible to source outside a dealership. There was one guy on eBay selling a couple of months ago, but I think he's gone now.

Are the splines different or can these be interchanged? My sister has a 99 Yaris not sure which type! Tis JAPAN built!
