I made my own for my Audi by drilling the foglight grille and fitting these from behind, using a hot glue gun to fix them to the back of the grille.

I used the same wiring plan as shown in the Auris thread, using two relays - on to turn them on with the igntion and a second relay to turn them off when the headlights were on.

(The construction & use regulations say that if you have daytime running lights "below" headlight level, they should turn off when the headlights go on.)

I thought about doing the sme and fitting them around the fog light in the fog light surround on the Yaris but have never got around to it...

Not the best picture but gives you an idea...

I made my own from the ground up and fitted them to my Auris. Don't see why you can't o the same for your Yaris.

i have seen your wiring diagram and how you made the 2 relays...AWSOME!!! that is a unique idea...WELL DONE!!!

i will try making my own as well later this week(copy your diagram if you dont mind).

as i saw in the tapping point in the fuse box, did you put a fuse?

my problem now is to where to tap in the yaris the supply that is coming from the ignition...

Na I don't mind. Copy away.

Yes it is fused, safety first. Im using a 5A fuse. Its just visable in one of the lower pics. I calculated the fuse required using the formula I=P/V

20watt bulb / 12volts is 1.6666666A per side. So total is 3.3333A. Thus I used a 5A fuse.

As for finding an ignition live all I did was prod around in the fuse box with a multimeter until I found 12volts with ignition on and nothing as soon as I switched off ignition. Obvious really but I was surprised at how long it took me. If I remember correctly the clusters of wires that are within the grey plug has two green wires, I think I used the slightly off-green wire. I just used a connecting plug to splice into that wire.

Great job. I actually never thought of using individual LED's to make a custom DRL. Maybe next time....

thanks for your enlightenment and help. you are a saviour!!!

honestly, i know the formula for circuits because i have a degree in electrical engineering from the philippnes. i used to be a project electrical engineer in my home country. but unfortunately, i am not so familiar with car electrical circuits.

again, thank you very much.

I haven't tested the connection for my fog lights yet (I'll do it tomorrow) but the Battery cable is a yellow one nubmer 1 and ACC is gray cable number 4. See attached. The wires are behind the glove box.

EDIT-ok, I did test the connection and the wires work brilliantly. Yellow for main 12V, gray for ignition ACC.
