Hi Geoff

Not sure what kind of information you are after. I've bought a 93 Surf recently and am very pleased with it. Much more comfortable than Landies (I've had several - still got a series 2) useful rear space, big enough for bikes, wood, washing machines. Chrome bumpers are usually rotten / rusty, but fairly easy to sort, a few hours and a few spanners- though you are looking at about £350 to do all the chrome bits - later non chromes also fit apparently. Servicing is pretty easy - oil/air/fuel filter. Timing belt is also easy at least on the 93 - 3 hours first time around, again a few spanners and a screw driver, oh and a pencil to reset the warning light.

Speedo can read mph, but mileometer is likely to be kilometers!

When you try it set the trip meter to see

Rear tailgate takes a bit of getting used to the glass winds down in to the gate, so make sure the button up front and on the tail gate work.

Check all the electrics out.

The radio if the factory unit will only scan from about 70 fm - 89.9 fm so ok as long as you like radio 2

you can get extenders to allow it to pick up more - check out the surf forum for more info.

Cheers Mate very informative reply. Just bought a 1995 Surf and really pleased with it. Far better than my old Landy and Wrangler in terms of comfort and general ride quality.

Cheers
