Can any one tell me how to findout the grade of a Prius

No.

Silly answer really, but unless you can get a look above the rear number plate to check for the camera there ian't really unless you know the brochure back to front...

toyota stopped putting a grade Badge on the back last summer... No idea why, sorry I can't help more....

For the Gen3:-

15 inch wheels = T3 or T-Spirit with solar panel.

17 inch wheels = T4 or T-Spirit without solar panel

T-Spirit has SatNav (big screen), T3 and T4 have normal screen (AFAIK).

That should do it.

Edit:

17 inch Anthracite Sports Alloy Wheels = 10th Aniv.

Hi, is this for your Japanese import?

The PriusChat forums have a good knowledge base for equipment/options on each grade. Knowledge Base Articles

For example, the 5th Sticky down titled "2GPrius (2004-2009) Standard and Optional Equipment (Some Countries)" is for the NHW20 and includes Japan.

Oops - looks like I misunderstood the OP....

I assumed, obviously wrongly, that he was trying to tell from the rear of the car when following it!!

Does anyone know why Mr T stopped putting the grade Badge on the back of the Prius?? it is rather confusing....

Genius - for the UK market that is.

However the OP is in Sri Lanka, so models and specifications may be different over there.

Also the OP might simply be trying to ascertain what model of Gen2 he has imported from Japan. Until we get further clarification of the original question it's hard to answer.

But for Gen3 enthusiasts in the UK, this post is definitely a keeper!
