Hi everyone,

newby here picking up a 2007 petrol XT5 on Saturday.

I've tried to PM the guru Parts King but cant fathom it out.

I need a longer rear door check strap and a protection strip for the rear bumper either in black plastic or stainless.

Could you please let me know how much they will cost me and how to get in touch with Parts King.

I apologise for being a bit dumb but these new fangled computers are like Chinese Arithmetic to me sometimes.

Many thanks for your help and look forward to getting the Rav and speaking to you all soon.

Cheers

Chris

Hi Chris

Kingo has replied in a separate thread... but if you do a search for 'parts king' and then click on the small envelope to the left of the text and under his name....

you should get what you want....

Hi Chris and welcome abroad (ah meant the spelly bit....ah sold ma soul tae Santa.)

Some people on t'forum prefer the Toyota Clear Film Bumper Protector, but you better have a warm garage at this time of year to apply it in. Depending on colour of your new wean, I would go for the dark ABS plastic sticky-onny-one. It looks quite OEM in my honest opinion.Instructions say only fit in +15C or over, so not many fitted in Scotlandshire. Mine got a liberal squirt of mastic to keep the bgr in place.....

Kingo will sort ye out, but don't think he does a sorta stainless one....tons of them on eBay if needed. (Sorry PK.)

Big Kev

Thanks every one,

got the check strap sorted, Parts King only does the clear bumper protectors. Does anyone know who does a black plastic/rubber one.

Cheers

Chris,

They are readily available on eBay, but be sure to order the correct one of two....one is for Ravs with spare wheel on the door (great idea) and one is for no spare on door.(Me..runflats...don't ask.) I will have a wee scan later myself and try to get you numbers.

Big Kev.

Here we go, Chris....

Black Plastic : 280620426777 (Same folk do both with / without spare on door)

"Stainless Steel" : 200545379655 WITH FREE ENGRAVING THEREON !!! BLING McBLING !!!

Service poll : who gave a better service...Parts King or me masell?

(HE EVEN ADMITS TO HAVING "QUICK FINGERS"...he'll go blind y'know...)

I got a stainless steel one made up for me a wee while ago by a commercial catering equipment firm - thye used an off cut and charged me £20 all in. I just supplied them with a template and then cut the ends to suit.

The OE plastic one does look good but the instructions call for the original shortened one to be removed. I don't like to see it peeping out from underneath the new one

Good point Anchorman min.....I have the original Toyota OEM beastie, which has a nice wee flange which comes over the original one. It is more than likely these eBay ones will finish in a "raw edge", thus displaying the Toyota nearly useless plastic part below.

Parts King : Has Toyota delisted this part completely?

Big Kev

I should clear up a point here, coz I may have been talking rubbish, again....

The original Toyota one I fitted does indeed have the wee flange to neatly curl over the painted edge of the bumper, the reason for which I bought it, to stop careless golf bag marks.

The disappointful bit was it is actually not deep enough to meet the original built in plastic bit on the bumper. There is a good wee margin of paint left showing to be damaged (not yet, but.....)

The eBay ones seem much deeper front to back, so may indeed require the removal of the Toyota part as Anchorman says. Mine did not need this done.

Big Long Winded Kev.
