This is an excellent write up on the avensis, reason I post it is that on occasion I have seen critical reports on the premium music system and navigation, I find it superb and so far has always taken me to the destination input to it with ease.

It annoys me somewhat when I read comments that knock this car.... for the money it is superb and I have not regretted buying mine, not for a minute.

The only thing that I would change is the location of the park brake lever, I reckon it should be a button on the centre dash.

Having just exceeded 6000 miles in my 2.00D Tourer, there is not much I disagree with in the Auto trader analysis. Love almost everything about this car, not least the wonderful Premium Audio system which is fantastic in every respect. Agree about the A pillars, which coupled with large head restraints do create potential blindspots in certain situations - good reason to be extra vigilant when needed.

Privilege to own this car and whilst I believe the handbrake system does have its detractors, I was brought up from being a green as grass learner driver by my father, always to leave a car in gear when parked, and front wheels to the left when parking facing forwards on a hill. Old habits!!

Easy to drive, comfortable ride, heated seats for softies (like me) on a cold morning, clutch which is easy on ageing joints when stuck in slow moving traffic, easy on the pocket for diesel, cheap to insure, excellent load lugger, superb roof system, ..............could go on and on.
