Ok then performance wise? good? Cos i think iam considering in getting this whole kit, just need a little bit more opinions on it. :D

I had the Blitz kit on my 97 Starlet and it sounded really good it gives a real Jap style sound. I now have it on my corolla g6r and it still sounds great. On my starlet though i noticed that in 2nd gear the car didnt pull as well but above 50 mph and on motorways the car was more responsive.

i thought about this question myself, even went to the local blitz supplier to take a look at the kit,and i must admit it looks very....very nice.but did'nt buy it,after much thought on the matter and watching a video made by honda engineers i decided that it was a waste of money.

basicly honda realised that 90+% of induction kits dont work properly due to the engine heat, grit and dirt that builds up under your bonnet.the ideal soultion would be a cavilar heat shield coustom built,to fit your engine bay,but even at that you'd need a serious engine like a 2lt v6,to get any real gains.now of course your engine will breathe better which should give a lovely burbellie exhaust note, which is a good thing, but these claims that companys make about horsepower gains should be taken with a pinch of salt,as in some cases induction kits have actually taken horsepower from the cars they were attached to.

so i thought it was to much to spend on a 1.3lt.but im not knocking them dont get me wrong.i just dont think there good value for money.

they do look very.....very nice though

Suki, here is a pic you can see where the bracket has snapped off i shold be able to get a new one welded on at work (will find out tomorrow). At the moment there is a black bung in the hole for the air sensor but i have the correct one for the sr sensor in my tool box at work

Ok sy, see what you can do for me and i will let you know Did ur Blitz come with the whole kit? have you still got everything for it? , so did u used to have this in ur old car or something? Are you using an induction kit at the moment?

Posted

If your looking at the kit from fensport then this is all you get you have to sort a little bracket out (i might be able to do something).

Yes i did have it on my sr but can't fit it in on the turbo as the intercooler pipe is in the way plus due to it's location it will just suck in hot air so i'm using a K&N high flow element in the standard box.

Soon when i have sold this filter i will try a setup like this:

My GT gained over 2bhp when I changed my HKS racing suction kit for a K&N induction kit. The HKS kit cost me about £250 whereas the K&N was £60, I won’t be wasting my money on expensive induction kits again.

Yeah that's y iam having second thoughts about buying a really expensive one....... now that everyone here has some opinions about there induction kits. But might consider sy's blitz if he can sort something out for me.

Hi

Have looked into cold air induction kits?

it's said that they give better performance!

Good luck

alright si,

yeah i checked out your blitz induction kit, i was just wondering what the other bit was in your picture, does the induction kit go ontop of that other piece, as far as i know the cone should just go onto the existing rubber tube.

I am very interested if you can get the bits sorted out si..... that would be great.....

i was just wondering if you could give some idea as to how you fitted it to the car.....or have you got some old pics of it installed.....

Thanks a million, most important how much do you want.... :P

:D

alright suki...for a girl u seem to be well into your mota...

u goin to any shows this year?

hey si,

oh i see how it all fits nicely together....yeah i can see that there is a hole where the bracket goes onto.....is the bracket for fastening it to the engine bay so it won't be left hanging...or knocking around even.....

if you can sort out the bracket thing for me then that would be great...the price sounds nice....just wondering how we can do the exchange...e.g money and goods....are there any meets that you'll be going to??

i'm 100% interested......

oh one last thing..sorry to be a pain...would it just go onto the car the same as if i bought myself a new one......

cheers mate

Suki, are you going to the TOC meet at Gaydon on the 28th? I could get it all sorted for then and bring it along.

Sy

Posted

em...hi si, i haven't an idea where the meet is at....so i doubt that i'll be going to that....mmmm i was thinking more local to where i live....i guess thats going to be too far away for you innit.....

well.....mmmmm how could we do this si....send a cheque maybe....well it all depends when you can get the bits sorted innit, i guess it won't take that long making a bracket and doing the welding...it looks like you work in a garage or something....

last thing we could do is i send you a cheque and then you post the air filter to me....sound fair.....

let us know when it's ready to go and we'll confirm all this ok si....

should be more people like you mate on this forum....helpful...

just to confirm, the bracket goes onto the standard air box screw holes right to secure it...

Thanks again....

Cheque would be fine mate and yeah i'll try and make it so the filter will just bolt on your original braket
