Extended Warrenty

Hi Folks

Does anybody know of a extended warranty I can purchase, the one from the dealer runs out tomorrow. I fine Toyota quote expensive. Or as they are so reliable? do I need it anyway.

The Toyota extended warranty is expensive because it covers infintly more than an off the peg warranty

Off the peg warranties are hardly worth the paper they are written on, you pays your money..................

I haven't bothered with an extended warranty on my wife's Auris - she does few miles really.

I turned down an extended warranty on my previous Subaru and regretted it when the sound system packed in just out of warranty and Subaru would not help with the cost of replacement which was about £1500. I sold the car for fear of more expensive bills - it was great fun with a 3 litre petrol engine but not cheap to run!

So I guess it is down to your attitude to risk.

I like peace of mind so Toyota's 5 year warranty in a new car is very tempting - but I will probably buy a used one 12 months old that has lost a !Removed! of money. Although I also have my eye on a couple of used cars that friends may sell in the future .... and probably be looking for a warranty myself then!

Dont know if its of interest, having just bought an 07 Prius with a years warranty, I asked about extending it, was told by the dealer £399 for a year, out of interest I contacted warranty direct by email and got a quote, for having any work done by a dealer, it was something like £330 for a year, I done this just out of interest, two or three days later had a phone call from them offering to do it with 20% off the online price.

I took out an unlimited mileage warranty on my out of factory warranty Prius last July. The price was very high but I am entirely satisfied with the confidence it gives me. An OSF wheel bearing had just started to make a noise, my local centre replaced it, no questions. I would expect a cheaper warranty company would need the bearing to have completely failed before even considering it. My motto is like Parts-King: You pays your money...I just wish something else would fail so I good get my monies worth out of the policy.
