Auris Brake Sqeeking

I know this has been done to death and I have had a look at previous squeaky brake threads but I just want to run this one past people in here to be sure in my mind before I go back to the dealer as i think the GF has been give a bit of run about.

The Gfs auris 2.5 yr old 15K mile on the clock. As far as I am aware it has never had the Brake mods (modified caliper/pad carrier /shims)

Issue:

The brakes squeal at low speed braking. Ie sub 15-20mph when parking up. Also when reversing the rear brakes squeal. Its been doing it for a while aparently but i only found out recently as i dont drive it much.

The gf took it in the Dealer the other day for a service and asked them too look at it and they said it needs a clean at £95 to strip the brakes and clean it (but didnt go as far to say it would cure the issue). When pushed they Dissmissed the lack of modified parts on the grounds of it only affected a few cars and if your had needed doing it would have been yrs ago when it was an issue. Ive not had it cleaned as £95 for no guarenty is expensive. That and i keep the car pretty clean including making sure I give the wheels/brakes a good go with the jet wash to keep the crap off them. The squeal is still there even after a clean with the jet wash.

So what is it likely to be ? And am I right thinking it the modified parts issue? or could it just be in need of clean?

I purchased my Auris (1.6 SR 2008, 12,000k ) just before Christmas and I have exactly the same problem... It's back in the Toyota dealership today to have it looked at...

Let's hope they sort it out for me as it really gets on my nerves!

took my auris in for a winter check,as could not be bothered crawling around it this weather (back in december) and anyway they threw in a valeting kit for free, worth about £30,which i gave to my daughter as an extra xmas present.

any they reported slight binding of one of the calipers.as my auris was due its minor service a couple of weeks ago the problem was left to then.

they stripped out the caliper and greased the parts that was causing the problem.

i wrongly assumed this was a warranty job,but it was not.anyway cost me about £50 odd plus vat for the half hour booked timee for doing the job.the foreman suggested i was to too easy on the brakes and suggested i should now and again brake realy hard.whats that all about have beeen driving before he was born.

I'm hoping that as I only bought it from the same dealership six weeks ago that they will do it free of charge.... along with a few other issues which the car has.
