Hello From New Zealand

Hi all.

Just a little hello!

We are venturing into the Toyota family for the first time. We have bought an Avensis Station Wagon ( or estate as we used to call them in the UK).

We have been looking to change our Nissan Avenir 1999, Salut X Station Wagon for something of similar or greater size. We were looking at the Subaru Outbacks, and Legacy Station Wagons around the 2003-2004 age bracket. Had a couple of test drives but they are abour $4000 KIWI dollars more than the Avensis, Nissan, Mazda models that would be similar.

The one we are getting is a T4 model, I believe.. hard to tell as yet as everything is in Japanese with it being an import. It has done 84K Kms. It has cruise control, 17inch alloys, and the wood trim dash...( not to everyones taste I know) and also leather look door pulls. I'll add a couple pics if I can.....

A little about myself.

We moved out here to Auckland, New Zealand at the end of 2006. We love it! Wouldn't go back to the UK now.

Prices of cars and motorbikes is slightly hirer than that of the UK and the cost of living is also slightly hirer. The benefits though is the lifestyle... there is more nice weather so you can get out more if that is your thing. There tends to be more going on outdoors too... more events at a cheaper price than were usual for the UK. We lived North of Manchester. Rossendale Valley.

So.. I'll no doubt be posting very newbie question about the Toyota when we get it.... Mainly about what button does what etc as they could be in Japanese and also information about any issues people have had..

Gawd am I jellyus!

Always fancied NZ but never managed to get there - not even when we were in Oz for 6 weeks. Welcome to the forum and keep an eye out for another mental RAV4 out there - I think theres at least one with the turbo engine in it as well. !!
