Water Pressure

hi everyone my first posting ... ive just brought a 1996 previa 2.4 petrol auto ... upon the 1st drive the radiator burst so i filled it up to get me home .... i flushed out the system a few times and replaced the raditor with a new 1 ... i followed the posts on here about fillin the system ... very worked well when i drive around the block but after 10 min the temp went up and it blow off a pipe ... i refixed the pipe and refilled the system ... this time i went for a longer drive temp was up and down not goin above 3quarters ...which i thought would be do to air blocks goin around the system ...then the temp shot right up after driving for about 20min when i got home and looked the new radiator had a few pin holes in it :( .... was wondering if the system could build up that amount of pressure to pop the radiator ??? iam exchanging the radiator ..but thought id ask on here if there could be anything else that could be wrong ... ive checked the hoses and overflow they all seam ok and help would be great thanks
