Have they the timing chain? Although that would be more of a loud rattle than a grinding noise.

Doesn't sound good though. I would be having it checked out asap if i was you.

high-pitched or low-pitched or more a sort of scraping grinding sound?

Does it go away after a while, e.g. when engine warmed up?

Maybe needs more oil or clutch bearing a bit iffy?

Ancillaries belt may need tightening (I had that semi-recently)

Does the noise happen all the time or under certain circumstances?

hey all again had the noise checked out and has been narrowed to the pulleys or the bearing for the air con and water pump, both pulleys have flex in them so its looking like a costly job hopefully just the bearings or pulleys that need replacing and not the air con it self does anyone know any good mechanics in Coventry area that could deal with these issues anyone trustworthy as ,most garages don't wanna touch the air con due to the draining of the the air con eg fumes and toxins and dealership will charge arm and leg lol any advice much appreciated
