Hi,

My 2006 Yaris is just reaching the end of its extended warranty, and went in for a service yesterday. It's been making a lot of rattling noise recently at tick over, and I've been told that the air intake mount has fractured, and that is causing the noise.

The garage initially thought that they'd be able to source a mount and fit it and I'd be looking at about £60 in total, (apparently not covered by the warranty) but I've just had a call to say that Toyota don't supply the mount individually, but only the whole air box, which would apparently set me back at least £250 fitted.

Has anyone else had this problem? Shouldn't this be covered by the warranty? And could I possible source the mount myself and take it to the garage to fit? If so, where should I go?

Boring questions, I know, but I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks.

Jonny

Welcome to TOC Jonny - we have a guy on here from Lindop Toyota, somewhere out in the wooly wilds of Western England... I'm sure he'll pick up on this and give you a response pretty soon
