Hi guys i need some information and a 'how to' guide on doing a service since its my first hands on experience.

I have a 2004 D4D saloon T-spirit (runs like a dream) its done 140,000 miles and needs a major service.

I would like to do everything i can myself but will also take it to a garage if i need to.

Can you guys please tell me everything that can be/needs done for a major service (e.g brake fluid, clutch fluid)

I know i need to clean the EGR valve as well since its never been done, so i'll probably do this at the same time as the service.

Any write ups, pictures and diagrams would be appreciated...........

Don't forget to order a cabin filter/pollen filter (same thing) as if it hasn't been done, it will be mingin'.

Dead easy to do....just post on forum and I seem to remember good instructions thereon.

Big Kev

When changing the fluids do a flush on the systems. There are different additives for the different systems (endgine oil, coolant, gearbox oil, break fluid). This could be done by yourself or in a garage, because the additives have a usermanual explaining how it should be done. You could check the nozzles(software check), they may need cleaning. Also check the AirCon fluid, but choose a garage wisely. Because the equipment they have must be good, or they could damage the AirCon system (overfill, burst a pipe, ...).

There are pictures and instructions in the forums, also you could get a service manual.
