Hi. might sound a bit thick but dont understand the speaker system in the mr2. normaly from the socket the wiring goes straight to Speakers but this doesnt seam to.is there an amp that needs to switch on as well,i have no radio in this car, just a socket hanging out

If you have the 'active' system then yes there in indeed an amp, which is loacted behind the passenger side rear quarter trim panel.

Easy way to tell is, if you have the subs in the cubby holes behind the seats, you have the active system.
