Auis 2.0D4D Dpf Regen Process?

I recently did a Manchester - London Trip and kept an eye in the mirror for excessive smoke to see if it goes through the regeneration process, but I dont think it did.

  • Does anybody know if the 2.0 D4D 07 Auris has a diesel particulate filter, if so what causes the regeneration process and how often does the cycle occur.
  • I have noticed the average MPG has gone up from 40-45MPG thats what it states on the average MPG display, and how accurate is the average MPG display?
  • Im also using a thicker grade of oil Mobil Super x1 from halford at £24.99 5 litres grade 10w-40 and have noticed the engine is much queiter at cold start, fuel consumption if anything has gone better. Slightly thicker oil is better for engine protection according to some sites. Most manufacturers recommend a thiner oil for increased fuel consumption. Do any of you have views on this?

forget your theory's the reason your MPG has gone up is because it is around 5-10c every day now and not -10-0c every day like in December

The 2.2d has a DPF but I don`t think the 2.0d does, my Verso hasn`t

Personally I`d stick with the recommended grade of oil

I don't believe the 2.0 has DPF.

And of course the grade of oil plays a part in economy, but like dervdave said stick to what it saids in your manual.

And diesel engines do indeed like warmer weathers

Cheers, Im curious to find out if it has a DPF surely somebody on here can confirm?

It does not soot heavy on acceleration compared to say a Fabia VRS which dosen't have a DPF, not having it is better I guess more power/response.
