Hi all,

I am new to this forum, but i wondered if anyone could help.

My rav 4 at first start up had very slow idle then when the throttle is pressed it was slow to respond.

so i put some injector cleaner in the tank and have been getting lots of black smoke. I have now used that tank of fuel and refilled and i am still getting lots of black smoke. It seems to happen when i let the car slow down then accelerate away. it also seems to be happening when the turbo kicks in.

not sure of next steps i do alot of slow driving around town as was thinking about putting some more injector cleaner in and taking the car for a good blast.

hello mate

1. what fuel do you use???

2. when did you change fuel filter?

3. when did you change an air filter?

4. SCV -check with their resistance and compare with manual;

5. are you sure the performance of your injectors is good?

I'd start from fuel filter.
