have a 53 plate rav4 petrol which just recently started to vibrate quite badly on tickover when reved to 3000rpm and also when driving at the same revs but disapears at 4000rpm.been told its the serpantine belt damper, this job isnt cheap has anyone else had one go as i dont want to waste my money.anything else cause these symptoms any help is gratefully received

i have had something similar especially at A/C on and when being stopped. THe following has been found: sparks; throttle; MAF senor. once spars were chacnged and others cleaned the RPM have become in order. Check with the above -- may be you have had the same. Cheers/Igor
