Acceleration Problems?

Hi guys,

I'm driving a 07 Auris 1.6 Dual VVT-I TR MMT and I was wondering if anyone has experienced unpleasant acceleration respons?

I know that the ridiculously wide gear ratio between 1st and 2nd is well documented but what I find annoying is the non-linear response when I press on the accelerator. Same force on the pedal gives different response and this causes the car to jump forward at times. This happens most when I'm exiting from a junction or entering a roundabout, you know, the stop-start sort of thing.

Is there a remedy for this or is it just part of the car?
