Press the set up button (LHS of screen), select traffic and set up the appropriate details, then select navigation and toggle the traffic selection on/off.

I believe just pressing the TA button,gets you traffic reports on the radio, it doesn't get them on the sat nav system

I was driving along the motorway yesterday when my satnav suddenly announced out of the blue (well, it was grey actually)

"Attention. In 10km. Fog"

We had already been driving in fog for about 30km and it was no worse 10km further on but at least she was trying. :D

If you have a route set up on the satnav it doesn't matter if the TA button is on or not, you will get traffic announcements if there are any if there are any on your route. If you don't have a route set up, then you won't get any on the satnav, just on the radio.

I think the original question was about RDS-TMC traffic data, not radio announcements.
