The cabin filter is located behind the lower passenger glove box (similar position as the mk1 Yaris) The filters are different though and for some strange reason wasn't standard fit on the 2007 Yaris (petrol version, not 100% sure re:diesel)

Can be obtained through main dealer but ask for a cabin fiter for a 2008 as they don't seem to have part no. for 2007 models., also Moto Quip do them I believe but have only ever purchased from Toyota myself.

I will post part number later as I am currently at work, unless Part King beats me to it!

Hi,

To gain access you first need to empty the contents of your glovebox, then with it fully open grab hold of both sides where the pegs protrude and squeeze inwards so that the pegs clear the sides, at this point the glovebox can be removed by a gentle outward tug. Then looking through the gaping hole vacated by the glovebox locate the rectangular cover that houses the filter (IIRC approx. 40mm x 250mm) squeeze the clip at one end (L/H side) to release cover, insert pollen filter (N.B. there isn't a holder for the filter like in the mk1) and refit cover. Refit glovebox (reverse procedure of removal)>

Hope that helps!

Hi mate, thanks.

Just done that without reading your post lol, was a peice of cake TBH.

It appears that it hasn't got one in, so i'm undecided if i need to fit one as essentially it will filter out crap. I've actually just done a search and some models didnt come with them but it appears 2008 onwards did, which is strange :D.

I need to measure it (didnt have time GF needed the car) but i dont know if the ones on eBay which are all for mark 1's will fit?. According to your measurements the ones on eBay wont http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/POLLEN-CABIN-FILTER-TOYOTA-YARIS-1-0-1-3-1-5-/170465633065?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27b08b2329#ht_2516wt_1031

Thanks

I was guessing with the measurements (from memory) but the filters on the mk1 definetely wont fit I'm afraid.I knew the filter wasn't listed for the 2007 that's why I suggested you ask for one for a 2008 model. This only seems to be a problem with main dealer as motor factors seem to have them for your model year.

Hi,

The cabin filter d4d from 2007..

mann hummel make 2 filters, a standard filter and a posh one with activated charcoal

order code CU1919 standard or CUK1919 for the posher charcoal version.

both are 213mm x 193mm x 30mm in dimension.

Both of these match or exceed toyota specifications.

I have nener had any problems with mann filters, and they are much more economical than oem toyota on the whole.

They can be obtained by their agents in the uk

one is CES motor factors.

I am sure that they could supply you via parcel post or whatever, or perhaps you may have an agent nearer to you.

Why not ask them..

I am nothing to do with mann-hummel or ces, just a friendly heads up.
