Avensis Figures

Considering getting a 2003/2004 Avensis Estate d4d 2 litre Diesel with 114BHP.

It states it will do 48mpg on a combined cycle. Most of my driving is motorway. Quite a few people have said that it wont achieve this figure, is this true?

Obviously at this age i am looking around 100k -120k on the clock, i assume the second cam belt is due around 150k?

Can anyone answer the following questions because when i have tried to ring Toyota, they are unable to give me prices without a car reg.

How much is the full 20,000 mile server, and the part 10,000 mileage service. How much will the cambelt cost? Quite suprised the insurance is so cheap, i guess parts are cheap and easy to come by?

Any other info will be appreciated, will be spending between £3-4.5k

thats a lot of car and heavy too, combined cycle takes a lot of carefull driving to achieve but is mostly possible. why you after a car like this?? you could pick up a prius same price and age and 56+mpg half the cost of servicing and £10per year tax lots of room too + they are nippy aswell ours we can leave a lot of high performance cars standing (until they catch up)

I am not sure about estate, but I am getting about 38.5 MPG average. I travel 70% on motorway and 30% in city.

Cambelt is due after every 60K, so next one should be due on 120K.

Do you think you will take that car (with 100K) to main dealer? Get it serviced yourself if you know bit of DIY. All you need is recommended service marks, which will guide you different elements of service on different mileages.

You should go to main dealer if you get extended warranty or something like that.

Cheers.

Got about 37mpg on my T180 tourer over 20,000 hard miles now I'm paying for the fuel average over 40 and getting better!

The smaller engine should do better on the fuel front.

Servicing Inchscape currently doing deal of 1/3 rd off paying DD 0% APR plus 10% off any parts for avanced booked servicing. Signed up for next 6 services at this fixed price.
