Real Or Cosmetic

Ok, so now the weather is a little better I've had a good look around and to my uneducated eyes it looks as if there is a row of LED's below the headlights on my Gen3.

My questions are:-

1) are they real - just not connected or are they cosmetic dummies

2) if they are real what is involved in connecting them as DRL's - i'm assuming that is what they are there for?

Totally cosmetic as are the row on the side of the headlight unit. They are not used in ANY foreign market either.

There is a company in Japan that offer replacement headlights with proper LEDs fitted as either sidelights or drl's but I understand they are EXPENSIVE and also unlikely to comply with UK legislation.

I think there's a previous post on this forum about this issue as I recall posting a link to the Jap website. They do look good though :)

I think the ones you see are just cosmetic, I seem to remember somebody having a light out to check

The Gen 2 i've got has them too.

Shame, they'd make quite nice DRLs
