Well after 26 months with our Auris T180 we are have just bought a CRZ Sport, 5 months old and 637 miles on the clock and as you can imagine mint.

http://www.honda.co.uk/cars/used/search/details/?stockId=615083

What I will say is overhaul we have been happy with our T180 and don't really have any gripes or negatives for the car apart from MPG, the MPG issue is well documented here by me and many others so wont go into that but will say we will miss the T180 and its not as bad a car as some on here would let you think.

I gotta admit Rick, that's a pretty cool looking car.

Please keep us updated with what it's like to live with drivability, cornering (it's v.light) should be quite chuckable and of course MPG should be way better!

We test drove one 6months ago and low down it very punchy due to the electric motor and with the 3 driving settings it does alter the car a lot, when using the sport mode it tightens all the suspension and many Civic Type R owners commented that they feel it handles better to their shock and horror. MPG around town should easily be 40mpg + and from what I have been told by most owners this is easily achievable without to much thinking about it. Unlike the T180 I did some research this time so I am confident we wont be disappointed by MPG again but will miss the keyless entry for sure and the in gear pull of the T180. Like I said the T180 is a great car just let down by a thirsty DPF mainly.

:yahoo: :yahoo: collecting the CRZ in the morning, not only is the road tax only £20 but the insurance is around 30% cheaper as well.

Well got the CRZ and can just say WOW, yes its not the quickest car but I tell you that you would be surprised for a 1500 engine. MPG on the T180 for Mansfield - Swindon (around 130miles) was 32mpg but on the way back the CRZ did 48mpg and when you think when sat at 80 you are working this engine harder than the T180 it does not add up.

The handling in sports mode is sure on par with my old EP3 Civic Type R so is light years ahead of the T180 and the oem stereo even through it looks basic is very very good and makes up for the looks in sound and as will all Honda's the engine just wants to rev and rev even through unlike the Type R it does take longer to do so.

Overhaul very very happy and can only fault the items below

1. no keyless entry etc like the T180

2. rear seats no good unless your either a 5 year old child or under 3ft tall

3. no sunroof

thats it I can believe I cant pick fault with more things and all the above we knew about before we bought the car.

Well we text drove one around October and this is what I said at the time

Well me and the wife have just drove a CRZ, well the best word to sum it up is very impressed and shocked.

The Good Points

MPG was a lot better than our T180 diesel and so was the low down acceleration, we found the car more than capable up to 70mph but will say that in 6th gear at 50mph overtaking would not be great with out dropping down a few gears. We found the handling and ride to be very good and sharp along with the brakes and was shocked at how good and responsive the car was even in normal mode (especially when you know it is only a little 1.5 engine)

The Bad Points

Unless you are 4ft tall the back seat is no use or ornament, and this maybe a small niggle but coming from a car with key-less entry and ignition I would have preferred the same as we never take the key fob out of our pocket.

Would We Buy A CRZ

Well the simple truth is we would in the GT spec but unfortunately Honda don't seem to do any good offers or deals on these so the answer is No, if Honda had some good offers (0% finance etc) then we would be talking figures now and not typing this.......

And NOW

Well after buying a CRZ sport I can tell you we are very very impressed and more so the more we get used to it, MPG is very very good 45mpg+ without trying and the oem stereo is just so good (built in sub as well) and it may look a bit naff but it really works very very well and sounds very good.

The CRZ IMO is very underrated as if you leave it in gear and encourage it to rev like all Honda's do then it shifts very very well and I think handles on par or very close to my old EP3 (very shocked at this), Now Honda market this as a hybrid sports car and most like me think no its wants around 150bhp but I tell you I now disagree as it is exactly what Honda say it is and if encouraged to rev then its more than fast enough truth be known its just not a traffic light racer like a Type R. I will go as far to say if taken seriously rather than the Pruis hybrid attitude then this is a rival for an MX5 and we all now how many of them Mazda have sold.

Here is a few pictures of small cosmetic mods I have done so far which is mainly improving Honda's crap footwell lighting and installing puddle and boot lights.

I have JDM wind deflectors in the post and have ordered a comfort pack today from Honda and might buy the rear spoiler, I think then that will be it for me.
