Dissapointing too see a thread in Prius forum discussing Sky TV. That revolting company gets enough publicity and god knows enough other forums exist for such discussions.

Sky's a necessary bulwark against the unhealthy dominance of the state broadcaster. More power to them.

Thanks Dwilson, and yeah, good point :crybaby:

Seamaster, I guess I just get a bit niggled where Sky is concerned, mainly because they don't seem to realise that they have customers on other platforms such as VM but don't acknowledge it, that and I find their refusal to allow their channels to be visible on the VM mini screen on the new VM TiVo TV guide really rather petty.

Anyway back on the main thread, wow, I didn't realise Dab could be recorded in the Prius! That could be handy for some I guess.

Are those radio channels I receive through my freeview TV DAB ?

The method of broadcasting is not, it is freeview and DVB-T as such. Whether the channel is available and at what bitrate, on what bouquet all depends on the channel :-)

Out of interest, how many people in this thread voicing opinion of the dab option actually have it and have driven around with it?

Not me, I can only go on the unreliable quality of DAB reception indoors as mentioned in earlier posts. It could well be that reception in a car is better and more reliable, but at the current cost I'm not prepared to risk it

Jan&Tone as explained before unless you have got a proper aerial suited for DAB in your area it is quite patchy reception. Unless you have perfect situation the included aerial are really best suited for FM and even then you have to fiddle with them. Having an inloft aerial like the Triax 5 element High Gain DAB might improve reception. We are lucky where we live as we've got a couple of those little Pure radio/ipod players dotted around and then work well. But yes as my inlaws I had to connect them to the external aerial. The Prius works in both locations and does have a seperate aerial to its FM system with separate cabling etc..

Jont, if you want me to pop over to yours so you can checkout the reception there just ask thumbsup.gif
