Auris T Spirit Heater Problem

Hi to all in the group,

I need a bit of technical help with my wife's 07 Auris T Spirit 2.0 D4D.

It has developed a fault in the heater. After starting up and after a while the heater is only blowing cold air, no matter how high the heater setting is at. The car temp is at normal, and the heater should be blowing hot air.

As car temp is at normal, is there something wrong with a heater thermostat or something ?

Can anyone offer guidance on this ?

Thanks in advance,

Martin

Climate control ? Can you "hear" the flaps move if you turn the ignition on (heater fan on slowest speed) and operate the temperature setting control.

Might be worth disconnecting the Battery for half an hour or so if it's suspected there is a problem with the climate control itself.

Can you see where the coolant pipes enter and leave the bulkhead on there way to the heater matrix ? Do they get hot indicating coolant is flowing (blocked matrix... unlikely at this age)

Also have a listen for a bubbling sound, could be an airlock in the pipes for whatever reason. My MR2 was a sod for that
