Hi Folks,

Having left Toyota ownership for a while to scratch a Subaru Impreza itch, I am now returning to the fold (in some ways we've never left as we have had a 1.3 Yaris TR since new in 2007) with a new iQ!

My order is in for a Black iQ3 with Leather and Navigation, and although I've loved the fun of driving the Subaru, the costs are getting a little out of hand, and I've always had a thing for small Toyotas.

The Impreza is going on the 28th Feb and my new iQ is arriving sometime in late March. I'm looking forward to coming back to Toyotas and will upload some piccies of the new baby when it arrives :)

downsizing comes to mind.

downsizing comes to mind.

Very much so.. I don't really need anything much bigger than the iQ for commuting, and we always have the Yaris for when we do need to take more passengers.

I came from a 300bhp VXR and can honestly say I think I prefer the IQ...

Posted

I came from a subaru legacy spec b tourer, and for the commute driving i do the iq is as much fun, and cheaper.

I changed to the IQ from a Mercedes C280 Sport and yes I miss the power some times but I'm saving a fortune and the IQ is good fun to drive

It's nice to see I'm not alone in changing down from something hotter to a little iQ :)

I did go for the 1.33 engine to give me a reasonable amount of power, but to be honest I'm past tearing around everywhere. Eco is the new fast anyway!

Yes I have put a deposit on an ex demo iQ3 with leather, multidrive (CVT) and navigation. I was really impressed with how it drove. I am still going to keep my Hilux 2.5 D4D for work and should I need something a bit larger on weekends and holidays.

Will finalise the deal this weekend.

I will be going to sort out the deal tomorrow and will be joining the iQ club myself. Can't wait.

Done the deal today. They have thrown in parking sensors, rubber boot mat, glovebag and exhaust chrome tail pipe.

I drove the iQ3 again today and has it has multidrive, leather and navigation, the 3 things I wanted the most. I just had to have it. Really looking forward to picking it up.

Sounds awesome mate. I heard today my new iQ won't be ready until April, So I'll be getting a courtesy iQ to drive around in during March. I think this'll be the 1.0 though rather than the 1.33 I have ordered..

Not many black iQs in the club, so Im looking forward to being unusual!

I actually wanted the pearle white at first. I went to Inchcape just to test drive a 1.33 auto one, as I had test driven the manual iQ3 at Currie Motors in Twickenham. I was really impressed by the multidrive and quite liked the grey one with silver, that I put a deposit on it. I was going to order one from Drivr The Deal, but it was 20 weeks for delivery. Looking forward to getting it.

We should arrange an IQ meet as some of us seem to be in Guildford. Anyone game?

Posted

It would be quite good seeing a pack of IQs together

Posted

I'd come along to a meet up, but I'm in Essex so Guildford is quite a way really.

I could get to Kent, or London easy enough. (If we fancied exercising our congestion charge exemption lol!)

The iQ3's are not exempt from the London congestion charge. And if the meet was on a Saturday or Sunday, you can drive in with any car.

Oh, is that true marcandsebe? Oh well, it's not like I drive into London ever to be honest! Normally take the train!

I know a few car clubs meet at Bluewater, but that's quite a way from Guildford.

Well if we are serious about the meet up I'd love to come along once I have my car.

Waiting nearly another year is a bit much!

Seriously though, I hope you enjoy your IQ as much as I have for the last couple of years.

I suppose the good thing is that it's a 2011 model and has the adjustable height seat etc. Only 1600 miles on the clock.

Apparently there have been a number a improvements made to the 2011 models.

The IQ2 unfortunately has lost a bit of economy, for some reason, according to the spec. sheet.

The height adjustment and different interior materials are good moves though.
