Front Neer Brake Caliper

Looking for help just bought 02 Rav 4 door loving it but the front brake is sticking front wheel, disc, and caliper end up red hot and prob bad for consumtion is this a common fault and is it just a case of taking the caliper off cleaning the piston forcing it back in or should I take it to a professional

Once they start sticking it isn't always easy to free them. If you are cmpetent there are instructions on removing the caliper pinned but if not best leave it to a garage.

Managed to get the piston back a few mm but can still hear a rubbing/grinding noise when I take right hand bends

Unfortunately its more common than it should be. I have had a lot of problems with Toyota calipers.

As ancs says, it really needs stripped down and cleaned or just renewed. If not, you will continue to have to buy pads; discs and extra petrol.

I renewed 1 pair and replaced another pair on my fast RAV as the calipers were just not up to it. Its a fault on quite a few cars and I guess they suffer from the amount of grit being spread on the roads.

Any decent mechanic can do it.
