Battery Fault

Hi to all,

the Battery failed today on my 2007 Avensis D4D, no problem I thought get a new one from a local motor factors .... No! I went to four different factors including Europarts and not one could supply the correct 800 amp Battery that would fit correctly. Apparently the correct one is a type115-e and that was special order at £110. Yes I could have got one that was near but not right for the top clamp or base, my Battery measures 310mm long x 175 mm wide x 190mm high. Most of the nearly right ones were from a cheapo non well known brand at £65 to £98 for a decent brand like AC Delco or Varta. Wanting the correct fit I thought I would pop along to the Toyota dealers and pay through the nose for right one but I was pleasantly suprised to get one for circa £105 inc vat with a 3 year warranty:D.

I'm still expecting members to say I paid over the odds so what experience has anyone else had when getting a battery for a 2.2 D4D?

Pete.

Hi mate, thanks for that. I didn't know that the Toyota price promise web site existed, £90 that's a better deal as it includes fitting and vat! I will have a word on the price when I go to collect the Battery in the morning but I will fit it myself anyway.

Thanks again ..... Pete.
