At last.

Proud owner of an 07 1.6 TR in Silever steel.

I drove the car home - a trip of 135 miles and it drove like a dream. Very much quieter than my Mazda6, but with a littlw less oomph than that 2.3 engine. Wife is very pleased that there will be less heart attacks from her and life will be generally less argumentative.

Now I have to read the User Manual and find out where everything is and how to use them.

Are there any spares outlets such as Europarts, German, French and Swedish.......?? Or is it Toyota, e-bay and scrap yards.??

Any suggestions regarding improvements of headlights, rear parking sensors, engine.......or why?

What is the Toyota Insurance like? Or is this a taboo subject?

Drive carefully,

Krait

I fitted Osram Nightbreaker +90% to my Auris (H11 bulbs) and these are much better than the standard. If you read any tests though, just be aware that different fitments (ie H4 as opposed to H7) can produce different results. For example in a Vauxhall Corsa Which? found that the Bosch Pure White did the best out of the H7 bulbs. These results won't necessarily apply to H11's or to H4's. As an example look on the Yaris forum for "Yaris Headlight bulbs - To Avoid!"

Some of the Ring upgrade bulbs are 60w as opposed to the standard rating of 55w - not sure what effect the extra draw would have on the vehicle's electrical system/wiring (ie overheating). Most of the Philips and Osram upgrade bulbs are 55w.

Hey Frostyballs,

My son is a born pistonhead and he has sorted out the H11's for the dipped beams and tells me that Osram Nightbreakers are the only high spec choice as Phillips do not do them.

I also noticed that the main beams are HB3, which is not available in any high spec but they say it is identical to the 9005. I have not looked far enough for this option. However, the Manual says this one is a 60 watt bulb. Interesting!!

Some crazy driver in an artic swept right in front of me yesterday and I had to hit the brakes hard to avoid a scratch. Hit the horn and got the shock of my life. It's so twee no wonder the lorry driver nearly laughed at me as he raised a finger.

I just received my pack of Toyota Club member's stuff and wonder what I do with it. (Politely please) I thought I would need to use the Registration number for this club, but it does not look like it. So who is likely to ask for this membership number?

Luck
