Rav Propshaft

would the removal of the propshaft on a rav 4.2

improve the M.P.G on this vehicle?

has anybody out there tried this?

could it be detromental to the vehicle?

The mpg would increase dramatically if you did this. It would sit happily on the driveway whilst you catch the bus -

Theres issues on maybe oil leaking out the bit where the prop goes but to be honest, the transmission drag isn't going to be much different as most of the bits will still be turning. Depending on what version you have, some of the RAVs do 2wd until 4wd needed.

My opinion is that having 4WD is so much safer on the road - no worries about a burst tyre sending you careering off into the fields etc etc.
