Hi I think you are right GC it however adds strength to the case that Toyota dealers who should know better are no better than any other dealer in carrying out the manufacturers instructions.

could pay to supply your own oil for peace of mind, and would be be cheaper than they would charge, which ever oil they use.

Hi supplied own oil with my independent dealer no problem (0w20 from Opie Oils £50.00 inc delivery )when asked Toyota dealer told that service cost was the same if I supplied the oil or not due to me being on a service contract, quickly told them where to go.The Toyota dealer I was Tied (by service contract) to were absolute rubbish which is why I left.

dont blame you, they could easely have refunded the price of the oil or came to some sort of compromise.

is the contract only with one dealer,or any toyota dealership.

Which lookers Ian? Your profile doesn't say what area you are in?

Hi Lookers of Rayleigh

Mmmm, strange, I've been using them sine Essex Park went in 2003 and never had any problems with them

I asked the salesman when i bought my gen3 what oil they used for them, he didn't know, but the service manager was in the showroom at the time and he answered without hesitation 0w-20...

I would recommend them without any problem.

Hi unfortunately from my experience of them they score a big fat zero when asked what oil to use on the Gen 3 they said 5w30 but the Gen 3 Had only been out 9 days when I got it,so I took that as a genuine mistake but when I took the car in for paint damage they were not interested in customer care, even though I had purchased 4 new cars in the previous 3 years.
