T180 Mpg / Tank Capacity

Hi all,

Well I've had the car for one week now and used it's first tank of Vpower which i filled to the brim. So this morning the readout showed a range of 15miles left in the tank and the needle on the gauge was on approx 1/8 tank.... I managed to get 331miles clocked and it showed an average of 29.4mpg.

I filled up with vpower once more and managed to squeeze 46.07litres in.... Counting my fingers & toes I make the mpg to be approx 32...

Anyway, reading the owners manual the tank capacity is supposed to be 60litres? Therefore I must of still had approx 14 litres of fuel in the tank, which at 32mpg would have given me another 100miles or so... Or even at the on board computer readout of 29.4mpg a range of 90miles, not the 15miles being displayed????

Is this normal for the T180?

With the tank now full again my range only shows 300miles!

cheers

Tom

Have you reset the mpg readout by holding the right hand button in for three seconds?

Yes, I did it when I filled up last weekend and after filling up today...

The range readout is very pessimistic. I rarely manage to get more than 45-48 litres into my XTR [same tank capacity] if I fill at next opportunity after low fuel warning.

I get a max of around 52 litres unless I dare go way below the E. It is a 60 litre tank I believe but I think the shape/design means you'll be dredging the bottom by the time you get 5 litres left.

I get 200 miles from 50 litres of V Power so think yersel lucky !!

Then again my 2 beasts are running 3sgte turbo engines.... and they like being thrashed now and again.

I get around 360 if I run it till the light comes on. Somtimes after filling it says 400 miles but somtimes 350ish. Just a fickle computer pal i wouldent worry. Im gonna need new tyres very soon. Think im going with the Hankooks, £100 each. just gonna have to remove each wheel at a time and cut the band off first. GRRRRRR :censor:

In my XT4 once, at night I ran 60 miles with my trip showing Zero miles, it was quite worrying as i was driving thru some pretty remote + mountainous Welsh roads between Harlech + Chester, I would not reccomend it but i reckon you still have a couple of gallon in when the warning light first comes on  Stew

Fuel light came on this morning having done 430 miles. Did another 35 miles after that of average driving. The "range" had only just gone to zero when I filled her up and it took just over 50 litres. From the above it looks like I had a bit left in there!

My last fill up was 44.73 litres of VPower Diesel, having done 405 miles. This from fill to fill gave me 41 mpg.As I said before,it can be done,if you drive like an angel.
