Multimode Yaris Repair.

Hey everyone,

I have bought my 1.33L Yaris in august 2009, brand new from the factory, with 6 speed Multimode transmission. Until now it has done quite low mileage during a year and a half - 14000 km (8700 miles).

Three weeks ago, the car began to act strange- the gears haven't shifted in the E mode quite well (the car took 7 seconds to downshift in a fast lane-a thing that almost caused rear collision by a driver behind me  ). The car is under warranty so I took it to the authorized Toyota dealership. The mechanics there replaced 2 clutch plates with no cost.

Since then, the car is driving well, but no as it was before - it takes 2 tries to shift into R when going out of parking, and a bleep is often heard with a flashing N. Also, the car takes some time to "kick down" when i need to perform a quick bypass in a fast lane and i often need to slam the gas pedal one more time to downshift, or switch to M and work in manual mode.

I have wrote a letter to the local importer of Toyota in Israel.

The response of the Toyota importer was-we fixed it, won't happen again. :ffs:

My questions are:

1.Has anyone here also got 2 clutch plates or another mechanical/electronic in the multimode gearbox?

2. Can I demand a warranty extension? Has the dealerships abroad give such a thing?

3. what was your way of action If you encountered issues with the multimode transmission?

Thank you,and your help is much appreciated.

Matan.
