New Alloys

Hi All

I'm thinking about getting some new alloys for my 2003 NRG as the 2 rears seem to be severely corroded and tyres won't stay inflated, even though I've been back to garages and had them resealed, it didn't really help.

If I get a set of new alloys, will I need new locking wheel nuts, or can I use the Toyota ones I've already got? Basically will the wheel nuts I've got fit any alloy wheels?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

If you buy a set of new alloys, then they come with their own wheel nuts - if you intend keeping yer old wheels as spares, then make sure you keep a couple of sets of wheel nuts. The wheel nuts differ from make to make. Trying to use the wrong ones may result in the wheel falling off after the nuts depart!

Hi Tufty what about getting them powder coated ? the whole lot of the wheel gets done that way, not just the front of the wheel.

Thank you both for your replies. I'm still undecided whether to go for new alloys or try and refurbish old ones.

Out of interest, has anyone got any pics of aftermarket alloys on their RAV? I'm always tempted by the black ones or 10+ spoke ones, but I've never seen these on a RAV, so what looks good on a sports car may not actually suit a dark blue RAV!
