Lowering Auris Sr 180

Hi guys,

I've recently brought an Auris SR180 and am looking to lower it. I know that the Sr180 is already lower than the normal auris however does anybody know if there are any springs available for the SR180?

Thanks for your help

Sarah

I don't know of any Sarah.

As far as i know its as low as it will go, but i may be wrong.

Have you looked at specialist stockists like Demon Tweeks for any kits?

Just a warning for you though, if i park outside my house with 2 wheels on the pavement and 2 on the road, i have to back it up to a dropped kerb otherwise the sill catches the edge of the pavement if i drive it off slowly. If it was any lower it could do some serious damage, so bear it mind if you ever park in this way.

I cannot even take a speed bump at any speed. I have to slow right down to a near standstill before I go over it. I cannot even take the speed bumps with the wheels either side. I have to take them with one wheel on the bump and one to the side. The different suspension has two long bolts either side that scrape if you dont take care and I think lowing the car may be a bad idea.

The SR springs lower the car by 30mm, Toyota do not do any lower, lowering springs, I think you might struggle trying to get it much lower without going to a lot of expense

As above. If you wanted to lower further you would need to invest in an after market coil over kit, however I can't find any on a search...

On another note, Kingo any chance you could send me a copy of the TTE Springs fitting instructions for a 2.0D4D Auris? PDF maybe?

Paddy, is this a standard SR180 you're talking about?

Mine is a completely standard SR180. Here in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, we are "blessed" with speed bumps split into three sections across the road. This is to allow emergency vehicles to pass over them with their wheels either side of the hump, so they dont have to slow down. These defeats the object some what in my opinion as a standard car can pass over them in much the same way. However the SR cannot. As you pass over the hump the raised part passes underneath the car whilst the wheels stay on the road surface. With it being so low the car regularly scapes if they are taken at any normal speed. This in turn annoys all of the drivers caught behind me who then have to slow right down, but in normal curcumstances would be able to fly over them. Because of my slow approach I have been likened to a number of female and male body parts and have been accused of copulation whilst relaxing in a gentlemens fashion.
