Avensis Aricon Compressor Locking Nut/wheel Broken

I recently bought an Avensis 2.2 Diesel 56 Reg. I got it serviced for 60K miles. Just sorted a problem with gearbox by changing to a thinner oil as recommended by the service centre. The service centre says that my aircon compressor locking wheel (apparently the one that keeps the compressor from slipping out of place) has broken off and that it is dangerous to drive without it. The problem really is it doesn't come as a part (with Toyota), the whole compressor need to be replaced costing 1K. Does anyone know if that part (the balck circular wheel like thing with alloy screws moulded at the centre) is sold separately or who should i contact to get this done. Thanks for any help.

There seems to be a bit of confusion here. The compressor is attached with four bolts which are easily purchased.

I think that they may be referring to the weight wheel and drive pulley assemby which probably cannot be stripped down and replaced.

Hi Fiter,

Thanks for your response. It is actually the circular disc like thing with a screw in the middle which when fitted actully covers the clutch. They say it is a kind of safety bolt as well. They in fact told me that it could be dangerous to drive the car with the pulley rotating without that thing in place. I am not sure it that is true as the compressor itself is fixed to the engine with bolts and the pulley secured with a snap ring. Do you think I should not drive in this condition?

This part is called the weight hub. I would try and give it a pull to see if it is likely to come off. I doubt it but if it were to detach it may damage something else as it flies off.
