Yarry Problem: Scraping Noise When I Turn The Wheel

My old Yarry has a problem: It has a noise coming from the front left wheel (I think), sounds like when you've left your car for a while and you first use the brakes and hear a 'ssshhhhhh' noise, I don't think it is the brakes though, there doesn't seem to be any resistance as if the brakes were sticking. I first noticed it when pulling up to a junction, I heard a 'clang' and thought it was a stone being kicked up into the wheelarch but now I'm worried it might have been something more serious...

It only appears at very low speeds and when turning the wheel. The car is under warranty and I'll be phoning the garage tomorrow in any case but I just wondered if anyone had any ideas as to what it might be?

Stone bounced in and gotten trapped between the calliper and the brake disc or brake shield and disc maybe?

Just mentioned it to my Dad and he said it might be something simple like a sticking pad or something...I haven't washed the car for 6 months so it's possible that the brakes are blocked up with crap from the winter roads.
